Freshers Events

FRESHERS 2016!

I'm Catty, and I'm the Social Representative on the Student Union, my job not only being to organise parties throughout the year but also to organise YOUR FRESHERS WEEK!

Congratulations, you've made it! What better way to celebrate your success than to throw yourself into the week of activities that we have in store for you.

It all kicks off on Monday 5th September with your formal induction to the college in the day and big bar party in our very own Toggler's arms at night. Other nights include Pub Golf, water activity day, beach day and start of term party just to name a few.....

As Chiros, we work hard but we party hard too. Freshers’ week will give you a taste of what is to come over the next few years for you. It will be the time where you make friends and memories, so we recommend you getting involved as much as you can.

Here's your Freshers' Itinerary

New students

Two types of Freshers’ wristbands will be available to purchase -

SILVER will entitle you to attend all of the events excluding the activity day

GOLD will entitle you to attend all of the events including activity day

The water activity day involves team work. It is a traditional event that has been a part of freshers’ week for many years, as it's the day that people make the most friends! So we highly recommend the gold wristband.

Freshers’ week is a great deal of fun, however it is important to remember that when you go out in the town, you are representing the college, so please drink responsibly and don't do anything too crazy. Even though a lot of the week will be based in bars, if you don't feel like you wish to partake in the drinking then let your marshal know. There will be plenty of non-drinking activities to get involved with too.

If you just can't wait ‘til freshers’ week to meet your fellow colleagues, find them on Facebook by searching the group AECC FRESHERS 2016. I will be posting bulletins regarding the events on there also.

See you soon,
