Student Housing and Accommodation at the AECC

download the AECC accomodation guide

Each year our Student Union prepares an accommodation guide to help you find somewhere to live - you can find a download link above. There are lots of accommodation options, all very close to the college.

What are my options?

Halls of Residence

The AECC is pleased to offer halls of residence through our relationship with Lulworth Student Company who run Hurn House and Union House in central Bournemouth. These luxury halls are situated just two miles from the college, on a direct bus route (which offers discounted student rates), whilst also being a short walk to Bournemouth’s trendy shopping, bars, restaurants and beach.

AECC have 70 rooms available within this facility, which take the form of ensuite flats with shared kitchen facilities. These will be offered on a first come, first served basis and can be secured with a payment of £420 (£300 refundable deposit and £120 non-refundable fee). Although there is no cut-off date for room bookings, all rooms are expected to be booked up by April/May, so make sure you secure your room early to avoid disappointment .

Halls of Residence Costs

Costs are from £135 a week for a 42 week tenancy - all prices include all bills, internet access and 24 hour CCTV, security services and a secure entry system

Visit www.lulworthstudentcompany.co.uk for details and to apply for a room, or email info@lulworthstudentcompany.co.uk for more information.

Local Long-Term Lets

To help students find the right accommodation, there is a downloadable accommodation guide. This guide is updated frequently and lists all the properties available to students.

But how much does this accommodation cost?

Costs currently average from £80 to £100 per week depending on the type of accommodation offered. When you agree a rental amount with a landlord you should make sure you know exactly what this covers in terms of household bills (such as gas and electricity).

And don't worry, for some general information on what to look out for before signing a contract, please read the NUS' Contract Checklist.

If you're unsure of anything, our Students' Union has a great deal of experience and can offer you advice on all aspects of lettings. Our Student Union will also be able to provide you with some key information about the cost of living in Bournemouth.

We also ask our students to complete an accommodation survey so all information we provide is from the information we receive from our students.
