How the AECC help Chiropractors develop?
Along with our accredited Degree, Masters programmes and Alumni reunions, the AECC also support chiropractors (and others within the healthcare industry) with training courses and seminars. Details on the AECC advanced learning opportunities can be found on our Post Graduate and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Seminars section: http://www.aecc.ac.uk/postgraduate-cpd/
Between 10th and 16th of October the CPD Seminar team are offering a 15% discount on all CPD Seminars, this is open to healthcare professionals, AECC students and Alumni.
Professional learning and development are essentials parts of any career in healthcare, each sector having their own council to regulate their practice.
For example: Chiropractors in the UK are regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) to ensure the safety of patients undergoing chiropractic treatment. All registered chiropractors need to keep up to date with developments and deepen their knowledge within chiropractic field for the best interests of themselves and their patients.
In order to audit Chiropractors, the GCC monitors the amount of hours a chiropractic has spent on Continuing Professional Development (CPD). During a CPD year a registered chiropractor must complete at least 30 hours of related learning. At least 50% of this training must be 'learning with others', the rest may include group training or reading books or conducting research.
The CPD year runs the start of September to the end of August. If a Chiropractor fails to highlight how they have participated in CPD then they will be taken off the chiropractic register.
To encourage early bookings the AECC offer early bird discounts on new courses and email Alumni and students about available discounts on CPD Seminars. The AECC have seminars scheduled up to 2018, this assists our international students to obtain cheaper travel costs.
