We are surrounded by the UK's best beaches!

We are lucky enough to be surrounded by not one but four of the UK's 25 best beaches as voted for by TripAdvisor users. The 2016 Travellers' Choice Awards are based on millions of reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travellers. Winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews as well as ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions in destinations worldwide.
So where did our beaches come in the top 25?
The number two beach in the UK is based nearby in Weymouth which is an hours drive or train away. With donkey rides, stunning harbour and cycle paths it is a great place to spend the day away from the hustle and bustle of Bournemouth.
#9 Hengistbury Head
In at number 9, Hengistbury Head is just a ten minute drive from the college, or an easy jog (if like our running club you are that way inclined!). Hengistbury Head has stunning cliff tops some of which were formed as long as 65 million years ago, and a pebble beach. There are walks over to Mudeford quay and amazing cliff top views.
We are lucky enough to be only a ten minute walk from the beautiful beaches of Bournemouth. Bournemouth has fantastic beach-side bars and restaurants and well as offering a range of activities including surfing, paddle boarding, beach volleyball, bike hire and more. Bournemouth hosts the popular Air Festival during the Summer and the Marathon Festival in October.
Home to the rich and famous, Sandbanks is a 20 minute drive from the college. It has a range of good places to eat and drink as well as benefitting from the calmer waters of Poole Bay, making it a great place for water sports including windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing. Sandbanks hosts the British Beach Polo Championships in the summer.
Not a bad place in the world to be!
